Wonders of the Falkland Islands

The Falkland Islands have a wide variety of species, but the great concentration of individuals and the majesty of some of their representatives is what makes this place so wonderful experience.
There are more than 227 species of birds in the islands. Among these there are approximately 800,000 black-browed albatross and 770,000 penguins (Rockhopper, Magellanic, macaroni, king and gentoo.) There are also 14 species of marine mammals that visit the coast regularly, such as the elephant seal, sea lion, dolphin (Commerson Peale) and Orcas. Have been recorded 348 species of plants, of which 14 are endemic and 171 are native.
Visitors to the islands have the goal of watching birds and marine mammals in an incredibly natural environment, untouched, where no large groups of tourists and without any fence, or boundary between nature and self.

Saturday: Arrival in the Falkland Islands
Arrival at military airport. You will be welcomed by our representative for transfer to accommodation in Stanley. Along the way, you can see the great “stone rivers”, a rare geological phenomenon.
Sunday: Flight to Pebble Island. D, A, C
Transfer to the airport (former main airport in the Canary during the conflict). Short flight in a small plane Britten Norman Islander, if wind conditions are favorable is likely to live a unique experience to land at an incredible white sand beach about 7 miles long, one of the largest in the archipelago. There will be greeted by one of the hosts Jennie or Allan. Accommodation at the Pebble Island Lodge with full board.
Monday: Excursion around the island. D, A, C
Excursion to match according to your preferences. The choices are many: you can get a combined route for faunal interest areas and sites related to the conflict of 1982. You can visit the Coventry Ship Memorial, the Memorial to the Argentine Learjet and the remains scattered over a mile of a plane Dagger, both shot down by British forces while joining these points are visited colonies of Magellanic penguins Rockhopper eventually Macaroni penguins are also seen, you can also see giant petrels and sea lions, seals and dolphins. Accommodation at the Pebble Island Lodge with full board.
Tuesday: Flight to Sea Lion. D, A, C
This little paradise only eight miles long and just over a mile wide, is one of the southernmost islands of the archipelago. After putting your luggage, you can take a tour of the island recognition in a vehicle 4 x 4 and also have free time to explore the island on foot. Tussac Hardwood plantations cover part of the island and protect the habitat of many animal species, including elephants and lions. There are also white sand beaches, cliffs and fresh water lagoons, each with its own wildlife species: all within walking distance of the Lodge. The 47 species of birds including four species of penguins, giant petrels, cormorants King and falcons and other species of birds of prey. Occasionally also see whales and leopard seals.
Wednesday: Day at leisure at Sea Lion. D, A, C
The island has the exact dimensions for a day of exploration on foot. Near the Lodge, are the penguin colonies and Rockhopper. In Elephant Corner is possible to see a huge colony of elephant seals, if you are lucky you see Orcas groups circulating near the coast where the seals have their pups. Another recommended site is East Loafers, home to a colony of sea lions.
Thursday: Flight to Stanley, D
Reception at the airport and transfer to selected hotel. Rest of the day at your disposal to explore Stanley and nearby areas, you can learn the classic Ross Road that connects the Duomo, the whale bone arch, the Governor’s House and the Memorials of the First World War and the War of 1982 , you can also visit the beautiful museum containing important objects related to the history of the Islands. Also be reached on foot or by taxi to Gypsy Cove penguin colony.
Friday. Volunteer Penguin Point. D, A
Full day tour to Volunteer Point, where the impressive colony of King Penguins more accessible. While it is necessary to travel over an hour to cross country 4×4 vehicle, we are sure that this visit will be one of the highest points of the trip.
Saturday: Departure from Falkland Islands, D
After breakfast we will have the last moments to say goodbye to the city and buy souvenirs before transferring to Mount Pleasant Airport for your return flight.
